Route

Do you want to do an island’s tour on a rubber dinghy but you don’t know the Island? Our experts prepared a route for an island’s tour by sea. To make your day on boat a really unique experience we’ll give you some advice about where to stop, what to see and therefore how to use effectively your boat. The tour of the island by sea is without any doubt an experience to be done for those who come in Ischia for holidays.

We are situated in the municipality of Casamicciola Terme (inside of the harbour in the Piazzale Anna De Felice, in front of the fuel pump ERG).

For a complete tour of the island you need about 4/6 hours, it can vary basing on your speed and on the number and length of stops you’ll do. Almost always during the afternoon there is a breeze of mistral wind, a north-west wind, consequently we suggest you to start the day sailing towards east direction(to Ischia Porto).

Past the harbour of Ischia, you’ll immediately see the Castello Aragonese (Aragonese Castle). There we recommend a stop, we particularly suggest to stop behind he Castle, in the Cartaromana Bay, where the water is clear and you can easily admire the seabed and relax in a unique landscape. Subsequently there is the Pancrazio Bay, a inlet with tall coasts overhanging the sea. After this stop, navigating for about an hour, you’ll reach the Maronti Beach, the biggest of the island. This one is near Sant’Angelo, a small maritime village known everywhere in Italy, and, not surprisingly, the place where German Chancellor Angela Merkel often spends her holidays. Here we suggest you to enter the harbour with your rubber dinghy , to tie it up and to visit the characteristic streets of the village.

Following, another inlet that is worth visiting, is the Sorgeto bay, with its hot thermal waters coming directly from the sea, enabling sometimes even to go in the water during winter.

Later on we recommend you to stop and go swimming on the waters of the bay of Citara, sunny until evening ‘cause it is exposed to west. In the bay there is, besides, the Parco Termale Giardini Poseidon, the biggest thermal park of the island. After the stop in Citara you can admire the (a church) and the near harbour of Forio. Proceeding there is the Bay of San Francesco another beautiful place where you can swim and relax. The water of the bay has an unusual turquoise colour, the seabed is sandy and it’s easy to see little groups of fishes near the boat. Once overcome the bay you’ll reach <strong<Zaro, a place with a singular scenario . Along the coast are beautiful villas which belong to film directors and famous personalities.

Continuing the tour you’ll find the San Montano Bay in the municipality of Lacco Ameno, always protected of the wind and with fine sand and shallow water. In the bay there is the Parco Termale Negombo, a real oasis.

This are the most important places where we recommend to stop during the island’s tour, but this doesn’t mean they are the only ones, In fact Ischia offers singular inlets and views behind every corner. The coast is full of grottos and bays to discover.

Be careful, we from SDNMarine always recommend to pay attention to people swimming in the water and to only anchor in sandy seabed and away from the coast. As always, if you would need us, don’t hesitate to contact us n the following number 329 720 4218 or through the form here
